Vampire Facial

Vampire facial is one of the non surgical facelift procedures performed to get rid of fine lines, wrinkles, loose skin, concave cheeks and other signs of ageing on the face. Vampire facial procedure involves a combination of microneedling and PRP injection in order to achieve desired results.

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure wherein a special roller fitted with very tiny needles is rolled on the face. As the roller moves, it pricks the skin making tiny holes. This signals the skin to produce new skin and new collagen that makes the skin look younger, lighten acne and other scars. Microneedling is also known as collagen induction therapy or percutaneous collagen induction. Experienced plastic surgeons came up with an idea of combining the PRP procedure with microneedling to achieve much better results quickly.

Vampire facial benefits/results

Generally, microneedling alone can reduce acne scars, blemishes, marks on skin, wrinkles etc. Combining this with PRP injection can help in achieving better results faster as PRP also pushes the body to produce collagen, generating new skin layers that look much younger, healthier, blemish free and more elastic, just like when you were younger.

  • Lighten fine lines, scars (acne or other injury scars)
  • Reduce wrinkles around the lips and crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Plump up the cheeks
  • Generate younger looking skin that is more elastic in nature. (New skin doesn’t sag like the previous one).

Vampire facial side effects

Since this is a minimally invasive procedure, you can expect a little bleeding on your face after microneedling is done. This is very normal and the pricks made by the microneedles will be closed by the platelets in the blood.

  • A little bit of bruising and redness can be expected for a couple of days.
  • Pain medication will be given, expect a little pain, tingling while healing.
  • Don’t apply any makeup or cream for a week after the procedure or until your doctor lets you.
  • Using Sunscreen is advised when you go out after the procedure in order to protect the skin from skin burn.
